Worming program suggestion
1st Year: Feed the Chicken Wormer MP for 7 consecutive days (one week), return to your chosen poultry feed for two months (8-9 weeks) then reintroduce the flock to the Chicken Wormer MP for another 7 consecutive days (one week), job done.

Thereafter: After the 1st year program the Chicken Wormer MP can be fed once per year for 7 consecutive days (one week) then return to your chosen poultry feed or it can be feed twice per year, we would suggest September and /or March.

The above worming program can commence at any time of the year, however once the first year program is completed we would suggest early Spring (September) each year or if doing the twice per year program we suggest Spring and Autum (September & March). Use product within six months of date of manufacture see DOM date on bag label.

This product is better suited to those flocks that are being fed the Vella Stock Feeds Poultry Supreme as it is the same diet and particle size with added Flubenol 5% this will aid better acceptance by your flock, although we have seen chicken acceptance to this diet even if fed another manufacturers branded layer pellets.

Feeding the Free Range Scratch Mix or a high grain Mix?
Getting chickens from a Scratch or Grain Mix onto a pelleted feed has its own challenges, so for those that wish to use the Chicken Wormer MP program to improve their flock’s health and wellbeing please consider the below.

Each evening for the 7 days of feeding the Chicken Wormer MP, allow approx. 100 – 120 grams of the macro pellet per bird per day, place that in a bucket and add approx. 130 ml of water for every 120 grams of the pellet & let it soak overnight.

e.g. 10 chickens x 120 grams of the feed = 1.20 kg. Add 1.30 Lt of water

Next morning give it a stir & add additional water if needed then feed this out to your chickens as a wet (damp) mash, don’t make it too soupy. Repeat this for the seven consecutive days.

If your chickens are still reluctant to eat you can try adding a little apple juice / pulp as part of the water content to encourage intake. If birds are still reluctant consider adding tinned Sardines or Tuna to the mash, mix well to blend in with the mash.

Remember, it is OK to show them a little “Hard Love” like kids they will think the world is going to end if they don’t their Scratch Mix (Lollies), but the health benefit to your chickens will be worth the little extra work and possible frustration.

Keep in mind, Free Range Scratch Mix is the “Dessert”, Poultry Supreme & Free Range Layer is “Mums baked meal”
